I was a part time lecturer in Animal Management.Within this role was responsible for delivering a range of topics to level 2 and 3 students enrolled on Animal Managment courses.As a teacher in Animal sciences, I believe my responsibilities include delivering clear, informative lectures, which present the material professionally without compromising on the content. Ialso aim to provide comprehensive lecture notes, which are used as supplements to the main text. Iseek to set high academic and intellectual standards for my students, and adhere to them myself. During my time as a lecturer, I have observed that students learn better when they are held accountable for their academic actions,and when the lecturer is enthusiastic about the topic and their development.. To this end, I encourage questions in class, but try to lead the students to the answer, instead of answering it straight away.Students are responsible for attending lectures, and maintaining the quality of their coursework. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse I was involved in a wide range of care and treatment of animals. My role included skilled supportive care for unwell animals as well as undertaking minor surgery, anaesthesia, medical treatments and diagnostic tests such as radiography. As well as the above roles it was also my responsibility help educate owners on good standards of animal care and welfare.I later developed my career further by becoming a Head Veterinary Nurse and assisted in the training of the student veterinary nurses.
