I’m an experienced marketing communications leader, known for my expertise in organizational leadership, marketing and communications, brand building, university teaching, civic engagement, and making interpersonal connections. As Director of Marketing and Communications for The Texas Tribune, I lead the marketing communications team to amplify the Tribune's brand, products, journalism, and events including the Texas Tribune Festival. I've also got a side gig as a freelance professional branding consultant, coaching and empowering professionals and recent graduates to define and elevate their professional brands, align their online presence with their career goals, and showcase their strengths.Recent past roles include VP of Communications for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, where I developed and led The Hotline’s national communications, PR, marketing, and brand management; and Chief Marketing Officer at Trinity Episcopal School, where I built and led the team that created marketing and branding campaigns and also led internal and crisis communications.Previously, I served as Director of Marketing at St. Edward's University, where I was an Adjunct Professor at the Munday School of Business for over a decade.I also practiced marketing and PR as VP of Communications at Central Texas Food Bank and as Community Relations Director for KEYE-TV. Prior, I worked in marcom at Dell, SicolaMartin and Austin Chamber of Commerce.My love of learning and leadership led me to the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership & Ethics program at St. Edward’s University, where I studied organizational change, team motivation, and ethical analysis. I earned my MSOLE degree in 2012 and received the MSOLE Outstanding Graduate Award.With a passion for service and mentorship, I'm a Leadership Austin graduate and past board member, and a founding board member and past president of the Young Women's Alliance (YWA), for which I serve on the YWA Advisory Council. I'm an advisory council member in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University, where I received my BA in Journalism. Active in Women Communicators of Austin (WCA), I moderate the “Careers Over Coffee” sessions. I was honored to be named a “Profiles in Power Woman of Influence” by Austin Business Journal and an “Austin Under 40” award winner.
