As one of the Sales Managers at Blackbridge’s Puhinui Nursery, I’m one of the main contacts for customers, who come in via phone, internet, or casual foot traffic.After 10 years at Blackbridge Nurseries, and 20 overall in the industry, I enjoy my role working in both the office and the nursery. Through both time in the industry and outside in the nursery I gain experience via a practical “hands on approach”. This helps me in my role assisting Landscapers, Landscape Architects, Designers and others in the Industry to choose trees that will best fit their plans. Prior to Blackbridge, I had careers with the then National Bank and with Housing New Zealand as a tenancy manager, before I found my calling working in the nursery industry. My first nursery experience was a little different from Blackbridge as trees were grown ‘in-ground,’ before their roots were cut and wrapped with hession for transplanting. During this time I upskilled my qualifications with the New Zealand Horticulture Industry Training Organisation, learning a wide range of skills.
