My role was as a Finance Business Partner within Global Non Core. The main focus of my role was to support the business in disposal and de-leveraging activities. I also had responsibility for impairment reporting and forecasting.Prior to the creation of Non Core, I was part of the Customer Business Partner team within the Business Support Unit Finance, based in Edinburgh. I was primarily responsible for the management reporting of Corporate Real Estate BSU and engaging with the business, with particular focus on income and margin.

Three year CA training contract. My role was extremely varied with work ranging from accounts preparation to involvement in audit, progressing to an audit senior role.Exposure to a wide number of sectors and size of organisations; charities, pension schemes, leisure industry, hotels and restaurants, construction and manufacturing.

1 year sabbatical position with responsibility for representing all students involved in sport and recreation at The University of Glasgow. The first challenge of the year was freshers week! as well organising various social events and speaking in front of several thousand students at the freshers address this also involved working alongside the University Sport department to deliver the full programme of club and sport taster sessions.Throughout the year I led the GUSA council (made up of student and senior volunteers) in delivering a wide variety of initiatives including the annual ball, awarding 'Blues', setting individual club's financial budgets, fundraising for our chosen charity for the year and hosting a past presidents reunion dinner.I represented GUSA externally through liaising with other universities sports departments and sports unions as well as governing bodies such as BUCS and SUS. I also represented the views of all students involved in sport at Glasgow internally with members of the University Court and the other student bodies (SRC, GUU, QMU). I was a member of the core campaign team who successfully fought for the election of Charles Kennedy as rector in 2008.
