I joined the University of York in 2006 as an undergraduate in Psychology and went on to complete a Masters in Cognitive Neuroscience alongside a Research Assistant post in Psycholinguistics. I then joined the Department of Health Sciences in 2010 to undertake a PhD after being awarded a highly competitive NIHR Studentship. My doctoral research explored the relationship between maternal mental health and child developmental outcomes, addressing the impact of missed maternal depression and the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of screening. I am presently an Assistant Professor at York Trials Unit embedded within the Department of Health Sciences, University of York. I have an excellent publication record, have delivered presentations at numerous national and international conferences and have successfully secured grant funding as Principal or Co-Investigator on a number of projects in the fields of Health and Education with a combined value in excess of £7.5 million.
