Materials are needed for various audiences and include community health opinion surveys for the general public, health data fact sheets for professionals and summarized findings for our local elected officials and program leaders.•Develop Community Action Plans as required by the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Board. This involves identifying and reaching out to both lay and professional leaders in the priority areas identified in the Community Health Assessment to develop SMART objectives to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities.•Serve in leadership capacity to community groups working to improve health outcomes specifically related to access to health care and substance use. Assist in providing and interpreting current data to guide strategic planning and advise how to properly communicate data to a target audience.•Educate community stakeholders about the Healthy North Carolina 2020 objectives and how to measure outcomes of related programs and initiatives.•Lead planning of the annual Public Health Forum to educate community and stakeholders about identified health priorities, relevant data and evidence-based interventions.•Edit and evaluate Health Department publications for readability, design and appropriate content and grammar. Content includes website content, program brochures, client surveys and state required reports.•Deliver Health Literacy and Document Design presentations to health professionals through the network of North Carolina Area Health Education Centers and regular “lunch and learn” activities.

•Conducted primary data collection for a childhood injury prevention study. •Developed and implemented programs for middle and high school students to improve reproductive health outcomes and reduce unplanned pregnancies.•Facilitated an evidence-based mother-daughter program to educate young girls about puberty and sexual health and to improve communication skills between child and parent.•Supervised a youth peer-education group dedicated to educating youth about sexual and reproductive health.
