Big Sky was founded by visual artist and teacher Kerry da Silva Cox in March of 2020 and is a roving school for creative methods in the arts + life. We offer community classes in art and yogic practices, focused seasonal interdisciplinary art courses, and one on one bespoke mentorship and project management for teens and young artists. Our mantra is “Mind like an open sky” and our goal is to build community and develop partnerships to provide creative support tools in our ever-shifting landscape.

I have experience working with students from PreK-High School teaching diverse lessons with wide range in age groups and skill levels. Previous and present clients include IPCNY, Brooklyn Friends School, Dixon Place, and Global Community Charter School (GCCS). Most Recently (2017), I developed a six-week stop-motion animation lesson for GCCS's Summer Literacy and Enrichment Program which culminated in a student film screening of work by 2nd-5th graders.

- Teaching artist working in Studio's Long-Term (2014-17) and CASA programs (2014-).- Responsible for planning and teaching engaging lessons to K-6 students in sculpture, painting, printmaking, darwing, and stop-motion animation while building connections with curriculum. - Developed tech unit designed to booster ELA learning through the arts.
