  • N/A
    Career Break - Family
    N/A Sep 2012 - Jan 2017
    Leeds, United Kingdom
I left my role in the communications team of Johnson Control at the BBC in 2012 to start a family and be at home with my two children. Latterly I did some voluntary work with the National Childbirth Trust (see below for details)
  • Johnson Controls
Portfolio Guidelines Project & Communications Coordinator
    Johnson Controls Mar 2011 - Sep 2012
    Bbc White City, London
I was part of a small team responsible for the launch and ongoing development of an internal project management website across the BBC portfolio. Its key function was to standardise procedures, collate project data to assist Project Managers and Facilities Managers and ultimately to reduce B2B project costs. On this website project I maintained and updated the website using basic coding, sourced and produced content and examined web analytics, which was all new to me and a digital skillset I really enjoyed developing. My role included communications and in addition to the content and live news feed I was responsible for on the website, I hosted presentations, developed operational guides and trained staff.
  • Johnson Controls
    Facilities Manager (Events/Production)
    Johnson Controls Jan 2008 - Feb 2011
    Bbc Scotland, Pacific Quay, Glasgow
I was responsible for coordinating all facilities management requirements relating to events and production/studio shows at BBC Scotland, working closely with BBC Marketing & Communications to manage large scale events and use of BBC facilities by external groups and independent production companies. This involved managing multiple service lines, monitoring and controlling budgets, producing detailed pre-event reports for clients and service partners, controlling communications, health & safety, and often involved working to tight schedules and under pressure. This was my most challenging and most enjoyable role to date, honing my organisational skills and building on my extensive knowledge of the BBC client and its production needs. I believe the most important aspect of this role was relationship building, with the client/event organisers and with my service partner managers and staff. I built a very successful events operation, performed to deadlines, enhanced customer service and customer relationships and gained extensive positive feedback.
  • Johnson Controls
    Assistant Facilities Manager
    Johnson Controls Jun 2006 - Dec 2007
Bbc Scotland, Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow
I provided executive assistance to three senior managers, was the finance assistant for the facilities management team, assisted the projects team adhoc and provided relief facilities management for BBC sites across Scotland. At this time, I also managed a number of office moves and changes and closely supported the moves management team that coordinated the relocation of over 1200 staff and associated facilities to BBC Scotland's newly built headquarters.
  • Bbc
    Personal Assistant And Bbc Receptionist/Telephonist
    Bbc Nov 2000 - May 2006
Bbc Scotland, Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow
I began my employment at BBC Scotland in 2000 and held various administrative/support roles in my early years. In 2001 BBC outsourced its facilities and maintenance divisions, (first to Land Securities Group and latterly to Johnson Controls) and I was transferred over under TUPE regulations.
