My name is Kerry Exton, and my curiosity about the world has allowed me to devotedly peruse an education of a Bachelor of International Studies, with a major in Anthropology. In 2021, I undertook a Diploma with the International Career Institute of Executive Secretarial. Health, care and development are inevitable in any culture across the globe, and the disparities of each has been a strong point of interest for me. Through my degree I have founded a strong passion that spending time outdoors and exercising are vital to health of a person and of their wider society. For this reason, I chose to become an executive of the Deakin Outdoor Club in 2022. Throughout my year as an executive to this club, I have demonstrated responsibility and time management through the planning and the execution of events for an average of 25 people, which can last up to three days. Planning involves submitting supporting documents such as risk management to The Deakin University Student Association (DUSA), by deadlines before the event. Responding appropriately and respectfully to students who may have less knowledge or experience in the outdoors demonstrates discipline and accountability. I feel strongly about enabling people to connect with each other, especially with the aid of nature as I believe this is the bedrock of societal health and wellbeing. My goal is to maintain this idea into a career. I am looking forward to working in a dynamic setting. I am comfortable in my enthusiasm and motivation in education, community which strongly relates to health.
