• With the newly appointed Senator, I directed a total staff of 64 in the DC and 8 state offices of a senator appointed to serve out an uncompleted term. I managed a $4 million budget and developed and executed all.
• Top Liaison between Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator LeMieux, especially during negotiations regarding Obamacare and Dodd-Frank.
• Chief negotiator for Senator LeMieux as he worked to deliver critical amendments in return for support of a small business jobs package.
• Led staff in the transition period between Senator Martinez and Senator LeMieux, helping Senator LeMieux seamlessly hit the ground running in his 18 months in office.

• Here, I supervised a team of six as the State of Florida’s DC-based lobbyist and the Governor’s liaison to the Florida Congressional Delegation, the Republican Governors Association, and the National Governors.
• Identified visibility opportunities for the Governor to testify before Congress, the Administration, and the Senate Banking Committee to highlight policy priorities, including a national catastrophic fund.
• Governor’s advocate before the Florida Delegation and the National and Republican Governors Associations, ensuring representation of state priorities across the state-federal public policy spectrum.

• With Senator Martinez, I directed all areas of communication strategy on behalf of a high-profile U.S. Senator. Oversaw and managed all press relations, constituent outreach, and speechwriting. I positioned the Senator.
• Acted as the Senator’s spokesperson and managed a five-person communications team.

• I advised and briefed Sen. Don Nickles (R-OK), Chairman of the Committee on issues related to healthcare and the federal budget and coordinated points of order during floor debates and hearings.
• Also, I monitored the Senate floor and served as liaison between floor staff and budget analysts to determine the cost of pending legislation.

• As part of the leadership team of a highly regarded boutique government relations shop, I planned and executed client-specific government relations and communication strategies on behalf of corporations and nonprofit.

• With this international trade association of high-tech companies with members worldwide, I led day-to-day communications and government relations initiatives on behalf of an international high-tech association.

After beginning as a staff assistant for the Senator in 1994, I was promoted twice, first to Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff, and later to my final position as Deputy Press Secretary. In that position, I prepared the Senator for public appearances and composed, produced, and edited press releases, satellite and radio feeds, op-eds, and articles.
