April 2011 – present:Director of CQMS Ltd with responsibility for CDM consultancy, CQMS Safety-Scheme competency evaluation including Supply Chain Management services, quality and compliance with standards.CDM CONSULTANCY SERVICES: I have provided services to dutyholders as a CDM Consultant (formerly CDM Coordinator and Planning Supervisor) for a number of years and have worked on a wide range of projects involving demolition, asbestos removal, refurbishment, conversion, construction of timber frame, concrete frame, steel frame, and traditional brick and block. My experience has included working on projects which have involved a vast array of site constraints and considerations, requiring individual attention and measures to eliminate or reduce the risks to the construction team and end users. These have included working adjacent to railways, rivers and existing residential, educational and commercial premises. Some sites have had significant levels of ground contamination to be dealt with, sensitive environmental or ecological issues, underground or overhead existing services, and much more!CDM Consultancy support services typically include:> Advice to the dutyholder on their roles and responsibilities as detailed in the CDM Regulations> Provision of assistance to the dutyholder where necessary to enable them to discharge their duties> Input into risk register reviews> Input into key strategies (e.g. cleaning & maintenance)> Attendance at meetings> Identification and provision of Pre-Construction Information> Production or review of Construction Phase Plans> Review of H&S Files.COMPETENCY EVALUATION & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT:I manage the supply chain management services that CQMS provides to buyers which involves the registration and assessment of their suppliers against set criteria (SSIP Core Criteria, PAS 91, Build UK Common Assessment Standard). I am also responsible for the development and implementation of the individual modules within the assessment process, alongside the supporting technology and CQMS Portal.As an Assessor I undertake assessments on Contractors, Principal Contractors, Designers, Principal Designers and Consultants and in my additional role as a Reviewer I audit samples of assessments undertaken by our in-house assessment team to ensure they meet our internal standards and those of SSIP.QUALITY & COMPLIANCE:I hold the role of Technical Manager for ISO 17020, having compiled the management system for compliance with this standard. For ISO 9001 I am the internal auditor and Deputy Quality Manager.
