I worked for 15 years in Indonesia in interpretation, translation and community development. I collaborated with elders of a remote, marginalized 1st nation to raise critical consciousness for personal and social transformation and justice by translating and animating a set of 44 subversive stories from their faith tradition into their indigenous language. I was also involved in the collaborative development and realization of a variety of community development projects.I am currently Owner/Operator of a social enterprise called Just Wright Industries located in Regina, Saskatchewan. Currently operating and growing phase one, a residential property service called Just Clean Windows Regina. Phases 2 and 3 are developing service-wrapped affordable housing (using the housing 1st model) and alternative employment. I recently concluded a 2-year term serving (2021 -2023) as a member of the board of directors of Healing Hearts Ministries Inc., helping to revitalize the organization and chart a new course for it to serve the constituency of the North Central neighbourhood in Regina, SK. I volunteer at Break Free Outreach Ministries' Regina in the North Central community of Regina. I also volunteer with Exodus Prison outreach services. I enjoy helping newcomers and others get their new lives in Regina up and running and settle in and grow as productive citizens positively engaged in city life. I identify with the more vulnerable and marginalized segments of Canadian society because that is my childhood background. My vision and passion is for folks falling through the cracks in our social safety-net, un-helped, finally find a caring community that loves and accepts them unconditionally and helps them deconstruct their personal challenges, critique the system and morph into abundant over-comers.I am passionate about networking and collaboration to address marginalization and other personal, economic and social challenges. I am partnering with like-minded people in Regina, Saskatchewan to facilitate community outreach projects and system change for a more just society.I am working with and helping fellow stake-holders to encourage each other to:> recognize our power to change both ourselves and the systems we live in, > uncover and re-write the assumptions we struggle under,> live to the fullest each moment intentionally and authentically, > work together to create peace, security, joy, freedom and prosperity in our neighbourhoods.
