Over the past 19 years, I have gained a wide range of experience in various architectural firms in Perth - ranging from smaller boutique firms through to larger international practices. My roles have also varied with some focusing on design, and others on documentation. Relative to the scale of the practices I have worked in, has been the nature and scale of projects I have worked on - from small self-sustaining ablution facilities in the north-west of the state, to luxury residences and large medical science buildings. It is this background that has given me the understanding and knowledge to build my own practice with a clear view of my driving philosophy, and the work lifestyle I would like to create. As an evolution of the growth I had experienced as the director of kerry chong design, my partner, Simon Jacobs, and I amalgamated our building and interior design practices in order to offer both new and existing clients the strength of a combined 23 years of experience. We have a clear ethos of maintaining a small studio in order to deliver the best service possible to our clients.Integrity in the process and the end result of every project is the main aim - building good relationships with clients, consultants and contractors. I take absolute pride in fully understanding and listening to my client's needs and wants in developing a bespoke design response. This vision evolves and is maintained through the technical manifestations of every project as we navigate through the processes of council approvals, technical resolution, buildability, budget, and contracts.Specialties: ArchiCAD software is utilised to enable clients to share a 3-dimensional understanding of every project before it is built.
