Completed a ten month volunteer position administered by Americorps and the California Conservation Corps serving the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Yreka office where I worked with salmonids (Chinook, coho, steelhead and the freshwater rainbow trout). Conducted field work involving spawner ground surveys, tissue, scale and odolith sampling, removal of coded wire tags, upstream migration monitoring and data inventory on the Shasta and Scott Rivers and Bogus Creek. I have also preformed hatchery work at Iron Gate Dam on the Klamath River and have created GIS representations of post hatchery release coho movement. Additional work includes scale aging analysis, juvenile chinook and coho population monitoring, PIT tag insertions, and river engineering projects to assemble and move large pontoon boats and rotary screw traps.

Bayside Ca

Aided in monitoring properties with conservation easements to ensure land uses were in compliance with the terms present in each individual easement. Created numerous GIS representations and monitoring reports. Contributed to restoration project reports. Summarized projects for the public. Researched funding opportunities and contributed to grant proposals.

Eureka California

Used GIS to analyze years 2009-2012 of water quality data representative of Humboldt Bay. Created interpretive maps to clarify results, and a report to further explain site by site probable sources of particular nonpoint source contaminants. I also contributed to various programs such as the Citizens Water Monitoring Program, Ban the Bag, King Tide Photo initiative and outreach events. I researched funding opportunities, created outreach literature on a variety of topics, ranging from political to scientific.

Clarified soil science to groups of up to 20, and individually. Covered soil texture, structure, nutrient and ion cycling and hierarchy, characteristics of various soil orders, soil profile identification, pH and water budget tables and implications.
