Caterpillar BCP Athens produces mini hydraulic excavators and its legendary small track type tractors. Caterpillar defines quality as exceeding customer expectations, and my CMM expertise is an important part of that definition.I program an operate a Zeiss MMX-B coordinate measuring machine, which can be thought of as a robot that makes precise measurements. It is among the largest CMM's Caterpillar owns. I use Zeiss' Calypso software to create and maintain measuring programs for welded sub-assemblies, machined structures, functional tools and gauges, and purchased components. I also write and execute programs in PC DMIS for use with Romer portable CMM's on the shop floor. I am a well equipped problem solver in the realm of dimensional quality control. My goal is to become the subject matter expert at Caterpillar Athens for all things related to CMM inspection. I get to use state-of-the-art measuring technology to further Caterpillar's goal of exceeding its customers' expectations.

Quality Support: CMM Programmer/Operator

In addition to general lab operation and maintenance, I run preparatory and analytical High Performance Liquid Chromatography systems to separate, concentrate, and quantify high value biological molecules.

I was the principal Coordinate Measuring Machine programmer and operator for Shiloh's Jefferson Blanking Division. My responsibilities included SPC projects including capability studies, first piece inspection, PPAP preparation, and customer technical service related to quality control.

I programmed and operated Coordinate Measuring Machines to inspect and verify machined components used in microelectronics and microwave handling assemblies. Proficient in GD&T and 3D CAD based metrology.
