I'm a woman in recovery who has battled alcoholism and drug addiction throughout a twenty year period of my life. In June 2021 I was suffering so bad from addiction and alcoholism my family almost welcomed my death and I felt in such a poor mental state, recovery to me felt so unrealistic and impossible, I never imagined life could be happy again. Fast forward eighteen months and here I am free of drug and alcohol addiction and I no longer wake up a slave to the bottle. I would like to share my experience of my recovery journey and to make people aware of the dangers, poor mental health, financial harms along with health factors of how drinking and drugging can take you to a no control situation.
