Teaching at Pioneer Social Enterprise Ltd has been a very different way of facilitating learning. I realised after the first hour a very big adaptation was needed as I am used to teaching in a classroom. This volunteer teaching role is in a guest house setting, all learners are working towards either NVQ's or Btec qualifications or just the in house certificates. I have lesson planning to do but I have to take into account that it is on the job training, with discussions about HASAWA, COSHH, customer care and job readiness among the lessons being taught on an ad hoc basis. I really do have to be very adaptable and easy going with the lesson plans as sit down work time can range from 30 minutes up to 4 hours, but most is done while every one assists in running a fully functioning Guest House.I find this volunteer role chalenging, but fun and every day is different.

I supported students through their City in Guilds level 2 course. Helping them keep on track to completing successfully in 2014.

Volunteer group to raise funds and run out of school classes for a local school. I kept documents, produced letters, posters and invitations as needed. I also planned and organised events, booking venues.

I organised a local craft group to be held at the local Sure Start. Unfortunately it didn't take off.This group was created as there were no 'knit and natter' groups in the local village. I also offered lessons in crochet and cross stitch.
