When I enrolled in University, I had just returned home from travelling in Europe and I had no idea what I wanted to do. All the same, I knew I possessed a questioning mind...inherently analytical and exploratory. The Humanities seemed the natural way to go...so I studied English & Mass Communications while I discovered acting & the nuances of human behaviour. My passion for language, travel and performing on-stage were channels by which I best expressed ideas, created new experiences, probed the "whys" and, ultimately, reconciled both joy & discipline. Today, these qualities have set me apart in my work, I have worn a myriad of hats as counsellor, facilitator, recruiter, educator, promoter and writer. I strive to nurture and inspire the human spirit and I take great satisfaction in watching people's eyes light up.My brain's continual quest for quantifiable logic and research further arouses my curiosity, creating an enduring war between my rational and creative impulses. However, In the end, rather than reconcile seemingly incompatible opposites, I've translated those attributes into a pragmatic optimism. I am forever interested and I'm still learning. So much so...that after a public sector career providing Employment Assistance Services as both a Counsellor and Career Specialist, I recently took my own career leap into hosting and producing content for radio and podcasts. It now seems such a natural extension. The clues were there. I've been a seasoned interviewer throughout my career, a radio broadcaster by training, but a storyteller at heart. Now, I'm excited and challenged to continue to share real-life conversations about people and events in compelling, purposeful and exploratory ways. My new career equally parallels a history of hard work, extensive research, and professional writing skills to cover any guest interview or feature story assigned. And, persistent curiosity will always be my lucky charm that helps get to the core of what makes guests, clients, markets, consumers and listeners tick. Interviewing people will always be my first love and the cherry on the top will be to create enjoyable content, worthy stories and engaging experiences that compel people to listen.
