Between 2010-2020, I worked as a founding member of the leadership team to grow Urban Teachers to the 2nd largest teacher residency in the country, training teachers in Baltimore, DC & Dallas. I served as the Director of Human Capital and developed the organization's recruitment and selection process increasing the cohort size from 39 to 324 from 2010 to 2018 and recruited cohorts with between 52-58% people of color each year. I led a virtual recruitment/sales team of 13. I also expanded partnerships to grow our talent pool working with over 60+ organizations.I was named Chief Growth Officer in 2015. I led expansion to Dallas which included regulatory work, hiring site staff, developing a community advisory board, and school partners. I also led exploratory efforts in 6 additional cities and explored other business development opportunities. I earned my Project Management Certification in 2018. In July 2019, I was named Executive Director for Participant Experience and Partnerships. I built a Support and Retention Strategy through interviews with participants, benchmarking with other organizations and research. This Strategy included further refinement of the organization's Alumni Strategy--all aligned with several of our organization's Key Performance Indicators. I also implemented several strategies designed for equity including programming to reduce the barrier of Praxis/PACT tests. Before joining Urban Teachers, I worked directly for 3 CEOs over 6 years at Baltimore City Public Schools, serving on the leadership team working on efforts to expand pre-k and institute "Fair Student Funding". Before joining City Schools, I served on the Gates-funded HS Reform Initiative at the Fund for Educational Excellence and served as staff to the Education Affinity group with the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers.
