I’ve always loved math and logic, even in grade school math was always my favorite subject. I suspect this comes out loud and clear when teaching a Crystal Reports class. I remember learning about Venn Diagrams in 6th grade math, and I use them now to help clients understand how to link tables in reports. And do you remember the “Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally” rule for remembering the order of operations in Algebra? It applies in report selection statements and calculated fields too. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about ask me!) For over 30 years, I’ve been creating reports using various report writing tools to hone my skills. As we all know, having wonderful data stored in a system is worthless unless it can be made useful and shared with the organization.I currently work at Delphia Consulting, a group of incredibly bright consultants and technical people who support Sage HRMS software and many related products.
