As a health insurance professional for nearly 25 years, my experience in the industry is diverse. Having spent nearly five years as an audit assurance associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, I transitioned to Highmark in April 2000. After spending nearly 10 years in Financial Planning and Analysis, I secured a position allowing me to work in Product Management & Development. This experience broadened my knowledge of the products we sell and the operational aspects that are needed to launch them into the marketplace. During my career I have also functioned as a Team Manager in Highmark’s IT subsidiary and have additional experience in financial investigations, internal audit and reporting, compliance, and contract review. For the past two+ years, I returned to the Product area where I provided input and direction on Individual and Small Group strategy and a number of research projects. Currently, I support the Implementation team ensuring our health plans are accurately coded into systems, develop and deliver company-wide product training, and provide insight to many customer-facing marketing materials.
