As a Special Projects Lead and Grants Management Specialist, I manage and oversee policy and technical support projects, and serve as a field-of-practice expert in the administration of complex federal grants, cooperative agreements, and interagency working groups to improve the nation’s ability to help victims of crime and transform attitudes, policies, and practices that encourage justice and healing for all victims. I serve as Project Lead for The OVC Center for VOCA Administrators, a $5 Million training and technical assistance project managed by the National Criminal Justice Association; provide support to an interagency victim outcomes research project funded by the National Institutes of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, and Office for Victims of Crime; and manage a grant portfolio of over $400 Million. Much of my work focuses on improving access and services for traditionally underserved black and brown communities, especially through “by and For” organizations that may not have previously accessed Victims of Crime Act funds.
