About Kerry Avery, M.Ed.

I am passionate about saving the world from death by powerpoint. I have been designing training programs for over 20 years, working solely with law enforcement for the last 15 years. I have a Master's in Education from Athabasca University and 2 certificates in Adult Education from the University of Alberta and Brock University. I own and operate Odin Training Solutions Inc. I am available for consulting, curriculum design (classroom, online and blended training), facilitating custom train the trainer programs, and instructional design coaching. My experience includes consulting and designing programs in law enforcement for every level of government in Canada, working with American law enforcement training providers, and consulting for the national police services in El Salvador and Ukraine.I have presented at the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) conferences in 2013, 2023 and 2024, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conferences in 2015, 2017 and 2019, and the 2014 - 2024 International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA) conferences. I am published in Blue Line and Police Chief magazines, and all ILEETA journals from 2015 to present. I am also the managing editor of the ILEETA journal.
