My passion for innovation began at a unique place: on the basketball court. It was 1987, I was 16 years old, and the 3-point shot had just arrived. Like email, we now take the 3-point shot for granted. Just as email has revolutionized the way we communicate, the 3-point shot revolutionized the game of basketball.Coming from a small town in Tennessee (Oneida, where the population still remains less than 4,000 people; there were 60 in my graduating high school class), the odds of me becoming a Division 1 collegiate athlete were less than the usual 5%.I hyper-focused on the most effective objective: the technology of the 3-point shot. Not only did I win a full athletic scholarship to Clemson University, I became the #1 3-point shooter in the nation. I entertained the idea of playing professional basketball, but instead chose to follow my zeal for disruption into the financial technology space.Like in sports, it is the human relationships within companies that enable success. By building on relationships, I have partnered with over 600 banks and credit unions to establish, build, and succeed with financial technology. My discipline, honed at an early age from thousands of hours of basketball practice, drives me to push myself and my clients’ businesses to the next level. My love for early adoption and effectiveness drives my love for progress and pioneering. Throughout my career, I have partnered with Silicon Valley leaders as well as Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies.Just as innovating with the 3-point shot empowered me to reach the next level in basketball, innovating in the tech space empowers my clients to reach their next level. As a professional with 19 years of expertise in the financial technology space, I focus on bringing innovation to the forefront while honoring traditional banking styles.
