Co-creator, investor and owner of Salus Loquit Ltd. As CEO responsible for all aspects of the running of the company, including marketing, financial (P&L), investment relations and product development. Salus has developed a high-assurance, zero-trust software product defence against all types of malware. Salus' products aim to become certified to internationally recognised cyber and interoperability standards.

Executive Board Member and CTO of Excelsior Capital Group Ltd working part-time for this start-up whilst also running Salus Loquit Ltd. Excelsior was a global technology fund focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, Banking/Fintech, ESG and Medical sectors. Responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, including conducting risk assessments, producing business cases and financial plans, and defining the novel prospect evaluation methodology used by the company. Excelsior closed after the unexpected and very sad death of its founder and CEO in October 2023.

I was an IAAC Management Committee member and one of the longest serving members of the Industry sponsored, independent, not for profit council. Engaged in the development of policy recommendations to Government and Corporate leaders at the highest level regarding emerging information assurance issues that were not adequately considered by other parties. IAAC was created in 2000 by Baroness Neville-Jones who chaired it until 2007 and was succeeded by Lieutenant General Sir Edmund Burton who remained in post until Lord James Arbuthnot's appointment in 2017. IAAC announced mission accomplished in April 2022 and closed, its aims being taken forward by the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec) - formerly the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP).

Investor in the start-up company as a spin-out from Royal Holloway University of London. Led the company's growth from £0 at inception to £1.3m in annual revenue, with a forward load exceeding £3m for 2022. Won numerous awards for Innovation in Cyber Security. Introduced to Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip as the CEO of one of the most innovative Cyber Security companies in Great Britain. Achieved Cyber Essentials and won places on the Government GCAT and Crown procurement catalogues and commercial approved catalogues and approved lists such as JOSCAR. As CEO responsible for all aspects of the running of the company including sales and marketing, P&L, client relations, investor relations, bidding and funding ongoing tool developments.

Director - Information Protection & Business ResilienceIGH IT Advisory at KPMG LLP.I was responsible for growing the information security advisory business in the public sector in the UK for KPMG. Defined a growth strategy for the public sector business which involved acquiring another Global Services firm. Led negotiations to acquire the Global Services firm (including staff) and integrate into KPMG LLP. Established new relationships with clients and grew the business from £0 to £3m within 18 months. Worked for a household name oil company to develop an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and successfully achieve Certification to ISO27001.

Provided pro-bono strategic business advice to the CEO of this anti-malware company based at the Enterprise Centre in Royal Holloway University campus whilst doing my MSc in Information Security and a Chartered Director qualification with the IOD in London.

Integrated Echelon Consulting into the global IT Risk Business of DNV and helped develop Strategic plans for the growth of the business under the new banner of DNV IT Global Services.

I established Echelon Consulting Ltd. in April 1993 and grew it over the next 14 years without external investment to be one of the largest, most respected, completely independent information security and safety consultancies in the UK. At its peak Echelon employed 50 permanent staff and was represented in many Government procurement catalogues and frameworks and was recognised as an Investor in People (IIP), a quality firm (ISO9001) with excellent security practice (ISO27001).I was the Managing Director for those 14 years, responsible for everything from negotiating the leases on our buildings to chairing the monthly Board meetings with my heads of department and fellow directors. At the same time as running the company, I was one of the highest-cleared practising Principal Security Consultants, achieving inter-alia, the world's first evaluated, certified and accredited multi-level-secure (MLS) Command and Control system for UK MOD; successful ISO27001 Certification for the Criminal Justice IT department at the Home Office; and, following my security and strategy review of Special Branch (SO12) and Anti-Terrorist Branch (SO13) of Met Police, the successful creation of the Counter Terrorist Command (CTC). In June 2006 I sold the firm to DNV.

Original Evaluator in EF1 (forerunner of the CLEFs) while working for Admiral Computing. Later worked as a security consultant in Portugal and USA on a NATO Project for Admiral Management Services and then IS Manager for Admiral Computing Group back in UK. Created and headed new Systems Development Group within Admiral plc. PRINCE Project Manager at Met Office responsible for managing the transition from MOD directorate using cash accounting to commercial organisation using accruals accounting, requiring development of an Activity Based Costing system (ABC), creation of Management Accounts and Board Reports for the main board of the organisation, process improvement and overhead reduction. Eventually left Admiral to form my own Security, Safety and Strategy company: Echelon Consulting Ltd.
