I spent a 6-month placement during my university degree course working as an in-house translator atthe Rheinisch-Westfalischer Technischer Uberwachungsverein in Essen, Germany. The translationdepartment handled the translation of documents produced by the company, which handled technicalinspections, ranging from presentations on non-destructive testing of water pipelines to inspectionreports on commercial products.
