I am a United States Army veteran with a Master's of Science degree in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School. My passion is working to help provide innovative solutions to persistent urban policy problems. Moreover, I have always been drawn to public service with a strong commitment for advocating for equality and social justice. The Children's Village was my client for my capstone project at The New School. I was tasked with researching the correlation between juvenile delinquency and mental illness. Additionally, I was asked to submit a plan designed to help facilitate reentry for youthful offenders released from correctional facilities. I conducted comprehensive research distilling the "best practices" across the country with a focus on successful youthful offenders' reentry programs. My project concluded with a (47-page) analytical report documenting the link between juvenile delinquency and mental illness with a guide on building a successful youthful offender reentry program. I am resourceful with impeccable organizational skills, which will benefit me greatly if provided with an opportunity. I have a proven record of being able to define a projects scope, set targeted goals, create practical deadlines, and manage all deliverables. My goal is to help provide underserved communities with innovative policy solutions that will help provide better outcomes. I have significant experience working with diverse populations. My background includes working in the non profit and government sectors. My strengths include conducting research, analysis, synthesis of data and providing a comprehensive report and or presentation of my findings.I have a strong work ethic supported by my passion to help the city's underrepresented communities.
