Exploration and development of a world-class base metals deposit in northern Manitoba. Duties include spotting drillholes, coordinating drill rigs, and logging core. Extensive data entry using Lagger2003 as well as continuous lifting and moving of full core boxes.

Grassroots uranium exploration in a remote camp in Northwest Territories. Fieldwork consisted of daily 10-15km traverses through the tundra while sampling soil and vegetation at every half kilometer, as well as occasional helicopter-based sampling. Other tasks included post-traverse sorting and logging samples, planning the following day’s work, and clay.

Exploration and development of a number of large-scale iron ore deposits in the Australian outback. Fieldwork consisted of extensive RC chip-logging and mapping in remote areas of the outback. Other skills included data correction using Microsoft Office, and interpretation of post-drilling magnetic susceptibility and gamma ray borehole surveys.

Assistant to doctoral student Fraser Keppie’s Ph.D. study in tectonics in a field area in southern Mexico. Daily work consisted of mapping outcrop along rivers and roadcuts in a variety of terrains ranging from desert to jungle. The last 2 weeks were spent collecting data for my own independent project in structural analysis.
