I am passionate about keeping people safe and well, having successfully completed over 20 years of both external and internal safety audits and developing my safety skills, my goal is to ensure the safety of employees and stakeholders and provide care and support to those who are touched by agriculture. I ensure that safety is seamlessly integrated into all aspects of our daily work ensuring personal wellbeing and business success. I believe in developing networks and relationships with everyone who I engage with and enjoy working closely with our team to understand the processes and provide feedback and advice to ensure our safety systems are aligned across the Breeding sites in South Africa. The ever-changing needs of the breeding team has allowed me to continually increase my knowledge surrounding agricultural safety with special focus on equipment, this has enabled the team to ensure changes are made to mitigate risks. Some of the safety successes I have been involved in is our sites major facilities upgrade of both our Petit and Malelane sites which enabled me to influence the contractors involved in these projects, as well as the streamlining of one safety management system across our three Breeding sites obtaining multi-site ISO45001 certification. I pride myself in my ability to persevere, operate with integrity and honesty, paying close attention to detail while remaining focused on the result.
