I am a Senior Instructional Designer and Curriculum Developer at the Edmonton Police Service, with many years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing interactive and engaging courses and programs for various audiences and settings. I have a Master of Education degree in Distance and Adult Education and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Instructional Design, as well as certifications in Project Management Fundamentals and Principles and Practices.My core competencies include conducting needs and methods analysis, planning and managing projects, tailoring curriculum for classroom, online, or hybrid settings, crafting materials and eLearning modules that align with objectives and foster real learning, delivering courses seamlessly on LMS platforms like Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace, and CPKN ILIAS, and ensuring that courses meet objectives and standards, and refining based on feedback. I collaborate with subject matter experts, instructors, and stakeholders to create courses and programs that drive genuine learning for diverse learners.One of my proudest achievements is earning a Commendation for Outstanding Contribution to Police Work in 2022, as the first civilian employee in the history of the EPS to receive this recognition. This was for my joint effort with EPS Sgt. Jason Born to design an innovative 20-week Dog Master Training Course, now being adopted by a growing number of police agencies in Canada and the United States. This course showcases my expertise in creating impactful and interactive courses that meet the needs and challenges of the law enforcement sector.My mission is to transform the training experience for learners and instructors alike, by applying the best practices and principles of instructional design, learning technology, and project management.
