I do virtual counseling with LGBTQ people and others who have trauma histories which has impacted their ability to function emotionally and also impacts how one feels about themselves in the daily relations we all have. I am also a Parent Educator who teaches a 10 week course based upon basic child development theory, the work of Marshall Rosenberg and his Non-violent communication and also my approach takes the work of Daniel Siegal especially his book "Parenting from the Inside Out" and explores how trauma history impact the Parent-Child relationship. I am a transgender female and am bilingual English-Spanish

The Center offers a Parent Educator Certification Program that trains one to be a Parent Educator based on the mission of "teaching effective nonviolent child raising practices based on empathy and compassion in order to deepen adult-child relationships and move toward a culture of peace and understanding." I have already taught six series of classes. One at the Unitarian Univeralist Community Church of Santa Monica, two at "Village Ready for School" program in Canoga Park, two in spanish at Broadus Ready for school in Pacoima and most recently ending in November of 2012 for San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health's Family Center. Both Ready for School programs are part of the Los Angeles Unified School District

I worked as a substitute teacher from 1993 to 1995. From 1995 to 2007 I worked as a permanent teacher. As a permanent teacher I would plan, carry out and evaluate the curriculum for my classroom. I would also supervise my two classroom assistants.

I do in home counseling with families who have seen Domestic Violence and Child Abuse. I also teach parenting classes. I was trained as a parent educator at Echo Parenting and Education (www.echoparenting.org/) in the Echo Park area of Los Angeles
