I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law with a strong interest and solid foundation in negotiation and mediation, especially when deployed in complex situations. Concurrently, I have a deep appreciation for what negotiation and mediation can do regarding family law. Negotiation in domestic law proceedings can result in a peaceful process with an excellent negotiator or mediator — such is the intersection of mediation and family law I wish to grow. Aside from my core interest, I am heavily invested in the diversification of the legal field and developing a community where women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community have a seat at the table. My experiences abroad working with the Secretary of the European Union Intergroup on LGBTQ Rights, the Assistant Policy Officer of the European Commission, and the Senior Communications Officer of the International Lesbian and Gay Association provided me with insight on how to begin to affect change not only locally, but globally.As a Jones Center Fellow, I had the privilege to conduct research and assist in leading a Group Level Assessment (GLA) methodology to produce data, not only relevant to the research of academics, but relevant to the people participating. A well-conducted GLA leaves participants with tools and a better understanding of their group dynamic. My deployment of GLA research methodology as a Fellow provided troves of data for academic and legal research while doing what is arguably far more important: the GLA participants understood each other better by recognizing the nuance in their needs and the similarity of the experiences that bond them, allowing a stronger community to develop with a unified understanding of one another’s needs in relation to the entirety of the group.The profession is a highly competitive market, yet I do not wish to fight with or climb over others to find my space within Cincinnati’s legal community. Instead, I compete with myself to better my skills and abilities each day, while working toward creating a community where others may also showcase their skills and assist each other in professional, and personal, growth.Outside of professional life, I enjoy living with my husband and two cats, Drago & Jeff. Our home is in the Westwood community, where we are proud to be able to live our truth — and proud to be Cincinnati Westsiders!Juncta Juvant!
