About Kerstin Ford
I am currently a Certified Child Life Specialist in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL. I completed a 600 hour child life internship at John R. Oishei Childrens in Buffalo NY where I also worked in the PICU for 2yrs. While in Buffalo, I have worked closely with the interdisciplinary team to develop a Trauma Informed Care training for staff and PICU specific resources for our patients and families. I graduated from Illinois State University with a masters degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Life. During my time at Illinois state, I was an elected board member of the Child Life Club, was a poster presenter at the 2019 ILCFR conference, held graduate assistantship positions as well as was a student athlete on the swimming and diving team.
