Kesha M. Simmons is a National Board Certified licensed mental health therapist and trauma specialist. She earned a Master of Education in School Counseling from Louisiana State University Shreveport. Currently, she works as a Behavior Interventionist for Caddo Parish Schools and is the managing partner of The Family Connection Center at Clint Davis Counseling & Integrated Wellness.Ms. Simmons began her counseling career in 2013 as a high school counselor at Caddo Parish Magnet High School where she founded Louisiana Goes to College, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping first-generation college students pursue and succeed in higher education. Her leadership skills were recognized by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce when she was named a 2017 ATHENA Leadership Award Honoree. In 2018, she was voted president of the Louisiana School Counseling Association, and in 2022, she received the Advocate of the Year award from the Louisiana Counseling Association. She’s been featured on KTAL News 6, KSLA News 12, KTBS 3, and Louisiana Public Broadcasting. As a licensed therapist and trauma specialist, Ms. Simmons is deeply committed to her community. Offering clinical mental health counseling, she shares her knowledge of trauma-informed practices through continuing education and speaking engagements. Additionally, Ms. Simmons serves on the board of directors for Project Celebration, supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.
