OMPL is the largest single train Aromatic complex producing 99.7% pure paraxylene and 99.9 % pure Benzene. Joined through the Graduate program and was inducted as a field engineer in Block 3 which included the Xylene Fractionation Unit (XFU), Parex, and Isomar unit. Started with mechanical completion/pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of the green field aromatic complex. Few of the activities during the various phases are listed below:Mechanical Completion:• Supervised mechanical completion of block 3 units which involved clearance for different static and rotary equipment’s.• Vessel, column, pumps and compressor inspection to check for deviation from design specifications.• Factory acceptance test of the DCS.• Emergency shutdown and interlock checking of the DCS.Panel Engineer:• Emergency and normal panel operation of Block 3 units.• Maintaining plants daily production requirements with optimum yield and efficiency.• Troubleshooting for issues for efficient unit operations.Pre-commissioning/ Commissioning activities:• Preparation of startup and shutdown procedures for Block 3 units and its individual equipment while working along plant licensor UOP and unit contractor L&T. • Preparation of system for hydrocarbon entry into the unit.• Commissioning of pumps, compressors, columns and UOP proprietary Adsorbent chamber (ACCS).• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of Block 3 units with 99.9% pure Para-xylene.SAP Implementation:• Development and implementation of the SAP Production Planning Module (PP) as a core team member of the OMPL SAP team.• Testing and integration of the different SAP modules like Finance, Maintenance, Materials with the Production planning module • Training colleagues for daily production posting and with other aspects of SAP.
