Following the experience gained in the telecommunications industry I ventured out into retail, where I am one of only 3 engineers developing and growing the Wi-fi Location engine andnetwork for Fatti analytics. The engineering infrastructure is made up of 3 engines (FLE, Aggregation, Reporting), of which I head the reporting department. This requires me to perform analytics, data wrangling, interpolation, and develop reports for ouranalysts, who use our trends and reports to advise property owners, management, and marketing teams how to optimize their foot traffic and customer experience based on observed patron behaviour.

I operationally managed all old and new generation Circuit Switched (CS), Packet Switched (PS) and Value-Added Services (VAS) and the Intelligent Network (IN) provided by different vendors – which I also managed the SLAs, KPIs and relationships with.My primary expertise is on the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution in Telkom where I have a fundamental end to end view of the design, implementation and operations of the platform. In the Architecture environment I oversaw new product designs and influencing the implementation with an operational view, providing practical insight to the Solution Architects - therefore ensuring that new products or systems are built correctly, and system & data integrity are maintained within all platforms in the Core Network, BSS and OSS domain. I provide pragmatic input in the conceptualization stages of products, the development of the User Requirement specifications (URS), as well as the Design and implementation to create a Functional Requirement Specification (FRS) on the OSS end of the Telkom Solution.This involves:• Identifying Workflow Defects and building statistical evidence based on information stored on the CRM databases.• Review and validating new requirements, ensuring all current or new technical specifications can comply.• Ensuring all disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are in place.• Ensure Housekeeping, resource management, Inventory management strategies are in place.• Devise creative workarounds for defects or design gaps identified in the system or product architecture.• Automation and analysis of daily reports and statistics on the status of different products, customer info etc. depending on the business requirement.
