For the second summer at the Experimentory, we have created new course clusters in order to accommodate a variety of interests from our students. I will be the Theater teacher in a course cluster called "Comedy, Tragedy, and Circuitry: Theater and Electronics." The course cluster will teach elements of drama and electronics, both separately and together, and allow students to express their creativity through the arts and science. As in the past, this program is a month-long boarding intensive for middle school students, running second week of July through the first week of August.Responsibilities:-Design course content prior to the start of the program-Create programming for off-site trip to Boston-Collaborate with other Experimentory faculty and staff to create a cohesive summer program-Teach 3 classes per day of approximately 20 students.-Design and implement curriculum for a "Communications" block-Run co-curricular activities after class

The school's strong support of curricular and extra-curricular arts programs allowed me opportunities to work with many students in a range of classes, including three sections of Acting I, two sections of Acting II, and one section each of Acting III and Acting IV. I also aided in the production of the fall musical "Legally Blonde."

This was a placement for my program at Central School of Speech and Drama and was an unpaid position. I assisted with the drama lessons from 9-1:30pm on Thursdays. The classes I assisted included:-A-level class preparing for their exam with a production of "Illyria" by Bryony Lavery-year 9 class exploring the text of "Hamlet" through improvisations-BTEC class preparing their duologues for their exam (run entirely by myself)-year 10 class working on monologues

This was a placement for my program at Central School of Speech and Drama and was an unpaid position. I worked with the two drama teachers at Petchey as an assistant in their classes. The classes ranged from year 7 and 8 classes, which are mandatory, to year 9-11 GCSE classes, to a Sixth Form class preparing for their A-Levels. Additionally, after school I helped with their production of Bugsy Malone. Independent projects within this placement include planning a short 4-lesson curriculum for a class of three learning disabled year 8 boys.

As a Resident Supervisor for the Emerson College Pre-College Programs, I served as an advisor for the high school students who lived on campus during their summer program. This included having office hours; accompanying students to doctor's appointments, hospital visits, and program events; advising students on college and city life; policy enforcement; and being "on duty," which requires staying in the building, performing rounds, and being responsible for the evening's goings-on within the building.

I served as the director for the Theatre Too! Summer Drama Workshop. As director, I was responsible for directing a production of "101 Dalmatians, Kids" with a group of children between the third and fifth grades.

I was one of eight RAs in the new Paramount dormitory. This position required that I helped residents adjust to life in the dorm as well as life at Emerson College in general, provided resources to lead a healthy academic life, and performed various policy enforcement and administrative duties.

The Hudson Area Arts Alliance runs various summer drama camps, and the camp I work at is called Children's Theatre, for children entering grades 6-8. This four-week day camp provides children with the opportunity to perform in a "junior" production. As a workshop assistant, I play a major role in corralling the children and keeping them entertained with theatre games between learning various songs and scenes with other instructors.

As the marketing intern, I worked closely with Marketing Director Jim Torres in areas such as ticketing, subscriptions, seating, and various involvement in advertising for our productions.
