I am currently the manager of one of Bedfordshire's two Custody Suites at Kempston - a multi-million pound building project opened in April 2022. I am esponsible for managing custody, staff, PACE reviews, complaints, legal authorities and quality assurance. I also engage with and manage relationships with our partners such as the NHS, Samaritans, Project Nova, Reactiv8, His Majesties Courts, Prisons and Probation services, Path to Recovery (Drug Testing on Arrest) and YouTurn Futures.Previously, I was a Custody Sergeant, working as part of a team responsible for the running of the custody suite, authorising detentions, detainee welfare and care, safer detention.Between 2016 and 2019 I worked within the collaborated Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Learning & Development team. I was a trainer, responsible for delivering IPLDP (Initial Police Learning & Development) to new recruits to Bedfordshire Police. This encompasses the syllabus set by the College of Policing and includes law, police powers, procedure and policy, criminal investigation, interviewing besides much more.Prior to this I was on a response team in the South of Bedfordshire, responding to 999 calls. I have spent eight years working as a spotter in conjunction with Luton Town Football Club, gaining experience up and down the country with other forces policing football operations, as well as border operations for international football events. I also have a background in serious and complex crime interviewing and responding to victims of serious sexual offences.I consider myself very experienced at dealing with confrontation and giving evidence in Court.Additional skills and experience I have gained include driving qualifications (standard response and initial phase pursuit trained), Police Search Team (crime and Counter Terrorism), the carriage and use of taser as well as tutoring student officers and mentoring others in the early stages of their career.
