About Kevan Scott

I have forty years’ experience in a wide range of roles in the public and wider state sectors, both in New Zealand and overseas. From these I have gained an extensive understanding of policy development, legislative change, machinery of government, public sector management, and strategic resourcing. I have held a diverse range of roles from being a military advisor to the United Nations in Afghanistan, to being a member of the budget team at the NZ Treasury during the Global Financial Crisis. I am adept at working between organisations and in communicating complex matters in clear, simple and direct terms. Having been a policy manager interacting daily with Ministers and senior leaders on some of the most challenging issues facing New Zealand, I understand the complexity of the challenges leaders face and can help them navigate their way through uncertain and difficult issues.I was an officer in the New Zealand Army for over 20 years and have completed operational deployments to Bosnia, East Timor and Afghanistan.
