Kevan and his partner David Fry operated SEC General Contractors until 2022 when it was purchased by JenCon Builders. He is a member of CRCBR and NC CCIM. Kevan is the founder of 2 real estate business affiliate groups; Breakfast & Brains and The Blue Ridge Institute for Advanced Real Estate Studies. Kevan is a graduate of Winthrop University and Hargrave Military Academy where he serves as President of the Alumni Board.

Jul 2024 - PresentA Charlotte native, I have worked throughout my career in the real estate and construction industries, businesses that like Charlotte have changed markedly over the years. My experience includes both commercial and residential properties and projects. When not looking for and doing deals, I am active in industry associations including CRCBR, NC CCIM, and two informal real estate groups that I have led over the past 15 years: Breakfast & Brains and The Blue Ridge Institute for Advanced Real Estate Studies. While my work over the last 15 years has been focused on commercial construction, my career began on the residential side in our family homebuilding business. I worked at Hobart Smith Homes for nearly 20 years before starting LandSmith LLC, a developer and converter of infill residential projects. From there I moved into the commercial world, working as Vice President of Land Sales of NAI Southern Real Estate. After three years at Southern Real Estate, I became a partner in SEC General Contractors, Inc., a commercial construction company that we expanded and inevitably sold in 2022 to JenCon Builders. I worked with JenCon for two years in a business development role. Outside work, I am an avid reader, learner, and outdoorsman, including shooting sporting clays, fly fishing, hiking, and camping. I currently serve on the Board of Trustees for Hargrave Military Academy and the Board of Directors for the Norh Carolina Chapter of The CCIM Institute. -
