I work at the University of Central Lancashire investigating, evaluating and managing the implementation of innovative and contemporary technologies to enhance our digital approaches to learning, teaching and working.As the University’s Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching Team Manager, based within the Learning & Information Services, I have a broad range of leadership responsibilities including Learning Technologies, IT/AV Support, Technical Service Hubs, Media Production and Conferencing Services. I work directly with colleagues across all Schools and Services to embed digital approaches in their professional practice. I also develop and coordinate the most appropriate, pedagogically-underpinned staff development activities to enhance the design and delivery of our varied and diverse curricula. I regularly organise and contribute to activities to collaborate with other organisations to facilitate the sharing of good practice and am particularly proud of the strategic relationship we have developed with Microsoft through our work with Surface and Office 365.I have been instrumental in the development and successful implementation of the University's Digital Transformation, focussing on people, places and practice. This has been well received and has made a significant contribution to UCLan's position of being recognised as a digital education leader and catalyst for influencing the development of technology enhanced learning across the sector. I have published numerous chapters and journal articles on digital transformation in education and continue to present at national and international conferences promoting the successful outcomes of this work.The continuing evolution of technology and the enhancement this brings to our student’s learning experiences, is the driver behind my motivation for creating inspiring, digitally-enabled, contemporary learning and development opportunities.
