After joining Barclays in a development/support role I took on management of the Debt Servicing IT development team in 2010, with responsibility for permanent, contract and outsourced developers in the UK and India. Ownership of design and development standards, and governance of all development activities. Responsible for high level estimates and project sizing, development planning, resource / task allocation, and release management.Took on technical architect role in 2014, responsible for design of solutions across all projects for supported business areas, working closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, disparate business and IT teams and external service providers to ensure that technical solutions are strategically aligned and adhere to defined standards. Responsible for identifying possible conflicts and synergies between projects.Projects delivered include on-boarding of new business entities to lending systems; STP initiatives to integrate the third party loan servicing application ACBS with strategic customer database and to automate transactional processing using MQ feeds from front office trading applications; data integrity and MIS reporting capabilities, and major software upgrades and hardware migrations. The team is also responsible for a workstream of critical enhancements as part of continuous service improvement. Technologies and tools utilised within the team include IBM i (AS/400), SQL Server, Unix, Sybase, Sharepoint, Jira, Perforce, Aldon LMI and QualityCenter.

Responsible for development and support of the Structured Finance Business within Corporate Banking division. This role comprised primarily of supporting users of the iSeries commercial banking application ACBS, and the leasing application ALFA. Technical lead on projects including the successful upgrade of the ACBS application from version 4.05 to 5.3; delivery of an application to manage security documents for HBOS housing finance loans, and delivery of a suite of iSeries HTTP based Intranet reports using SQL to interrogate the database. As technical lead I was responsible for mentoring permanent and contract staff members.

As part of a small development team in Southampton, successfully implemented the millennium compliant version of JBA System/21 Drinks distribution and financial software package on the AS/400 platform.Responsible for post-implementation support of JBA System/21, and for related development projects. Also responsible for the implementation of LANSA on the AS/400.

Primary point of contact for several blue chip clients of this software house and IBM Business Partner, providing application support for Acuma’s AS/400 financial and warehousing package, Horizon. Also responsible for the support and ongoing development of a number of bespoke RPG/400 applications.

AS/400 application and system support at the Cheshire offices of this London based software house, responsible for a number of related RPG/400 development projects.

Worked as part of an in-house AS/400 development team to code new warehousing, distribution, sales and ledger systems using RPG/400. Personally responsible for the migration of data from the legacy UNIX system to the new AS/400 application.
