Pinweld is a project to deliver an innovative plastic welding solution to market. The Pinweld head employs a linear form of Oscillatory Plastic Deformation Welding (OPDW). A technique enabling a user to quickly and reliably achieve discrete yet strong welds in thin sheet form plastics; e.g. car bumper skins. This patented technology consistently achieves outstanding results in testing and continues to gain excellent peer reviews.Design engineers and repairers alike are particularly interested in the Pinweld’s ability to create welded joints able to maintain many of the subject material’s original properties. Others including OEM’s have picked up on this emergent technology’s ability to work with a growing selection of polymers, including those containing a significant proportion of recyclate.
