We created Terraton to remove carbon from the atmosphere. A lot of it. Not by waving a magic wand or inventing a new carbon capture technology, but by diving into the relatively boring and immensely practical side of climate change. Specifically, we create software that makes it easy to bring a new CDR facility online. We've created the first Carbon ERP solution designed to scale carbon businesses around the globe. Think of us as a carbon removal business in a box -- making CDR universal, accessible, and profitable.

Led the Quip team at Salesforce. Grew the product to a $100M+ annual run rate. Managed the Sales, Marketing and Engineering teams, and grew the organization from 60 at acquisition to 350 people. Participated in CIO leadership events and customer engagements with Apple, Citibank, Amazon, and other large customers. Led the technical diligence for the Slack acquisition, and worked with Stewart and leaders at Quip on the foundations for Slack canvas.

Co-founded Quip with Bret Taylor. Led engineering and wrote code for the product, including the multi-platform text editor, the offline synchronization facility, and mobile apps. After a successful launch and significant enterprise customer growth, sold Quip to Salesforce in August 2016.

Started and lead the Google App Engine project. I serve as the technical lead and overall manager for a distributed team of 40+ people, including a world-class engineering team, and managing interactions between the QA, product, and developer relations team. Review architecture designs, represent the product at major speaking engagements (keynotes and panels), and manage overall strategy.

Engineer in the Systems Infrastructure group. Worked on the original Borg and Borg Monitoring team that built the infrastructure to deploy, run, and monitor programs running in Google's datacenters. During this time, created Google Suggest.

Engineer in IBM's Internet technology research and development group. Projects included configuration optimization for autonomic computing, IBM's first internal blogging platform, and semantic data representation for life sciences.
