I worked in the Bell System after college in a variety of engineering and operations positions. My last Bell System assignment included overseeing a set of projects expanding and updating the site infrastructure (power and cooling) at a major AT&T data center providing new video services to our customers. I progressed from design engineering through network planning, technical support, sales engineering, business case development, and project / program management.I have been fortunate to find a second telecom job working for Berry It Utility Services. I am currently working as a Project Detailer, bridging between the field forces, the customer, and the A/R Department. I prepare final "as-built" or "redline" prints for use in settling up the jobs. The company is expanding, and I may see an opportunity to revert to an engineering role.I consider my greatest strength to be the rapid study and understanding of technology, and the ability to quickly apply, analyze, and/or explain to others. I applied this talent while deploying public data networks earlier in my career by evaluating and selecting the initial vendors, by improvising test equipment and training technicians, and by designing circuits to facilitate changeovers to new network equipment. More recently, I learned the structure of the servers supporting AT&T’s Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), and analyzed metrics data to optimize deployments and save capital budget. I enjoy solving technical problems. I can analyze data to spot trends and performance issues, and I can communicate my findings to others in any format useful. I like to work with people, and I can convey information to and from a carpeted office as easily as to and from a job site.My competencies include:• Technology Analysis• Team member (contributor)• Team leadership• Telecom and data networking including IPTV• Presentation and reporting
Listed skills include Leadership, Presentation Skills, Team Building, Technical Presentations, and 44 others.
