Our signature mentoring program ‘Guide Right’ was designed to provide awareness, education, and exposure to professions, career options, and offer scholarship support for talented students of low-income families. The Guide Right Program offers tuition-free, year-round academic and social programming that provides a pathway to college and beyond for Metropolitan Atlanta’s African American young men in elementary, middle, and high school. Utilizing the diverse talents of our membership, young men are groomed for the demands and expectations of a successful adult life. Addressing topics such as personal responsibility, social skills development, conflict resolution, business, finance, career selection and community involvement. Our Diamond Beautillion initiative is unlike any other available in the Atlanta Metro area. It is an 8-month Leadership Development program for high school juniors and seniors. Providing leadership training via intense workshops, community service projects, fellowship and cultural activities. At the completion of the program participants receive assistance in funding their post-secondary education. Since 2005, we have matriculated more than 75 young men and awarded over $150,000 in post-secondary educational scholarships to those participating young men, all of which having completed the program. As the former President and CEO of 100 Black Men of America's South Metro Atlanta Chapter a 5p1c3 not for profit corporation. He served as the 25th Anniversary President. As President his day to day management and operation of the organization, implementing the strategic direction and coordination of all activities. Utilizing the diverse talents of its membership to create environments where underprivileged children 8-18 are motivated to achieve higher goals to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the community. Under his leadership the Chapter received its first major recognition from the International Headquarters of 100 Black Men of America, as Education Chapter of the Year. The chapter would go on to recieve it's 4th Mentee of the Year Award; reviewed its second Mentor of the year, and Receive Mentoring Chapter of the Year. Also, during his Presidency Mr. Bean also initiated Collegiate 100 at Clark Atlanta University, the Emerging 100 Chapter of South Metro Atlanta Chapter and MIRROR 100 ( Male Initiative for Recruitment, Reward & Overall Retention). The concept of the program was born out of necessity to present constructive and productive activities between youth and criminal justice professionals, fostering mutual knowledge, promoting respect, justice, and democracy.
