Led the process development and scale-up of innovative drug substances, focusing on taking lab-scale synthesis to industrial-scale production. This experience involved managing cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, optimise process efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry standards—essential CMC tasks for translating lab processes to scalable, compliant production.

Led R&D for the "Nanotherm" project, focusing on the development and optimisation of nanocarbon dispersions. This required strong knowledge of materials science and hands-on laboratory skills, including the design and execution of experiments to improve the stability and performance of thermal fluids. Worked closely with engineers and stakeholders to align technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and streamline transfer, ensuring that lab developments translated seamlessly to industrial-scale production.

2020 - 2022:o Established host-guest macromer chemistry in the research group of Prof. Conor Buckley.o Utilised extracellular matrix (ECM) components as the basis for a photocrosslinkable, injectable, self-healing hydrogel, as a treatment option for IVD degeneration.2018 - 2020:o Led a small team (postdoc and two PhD students) as part of the SFI AMBER “TRANSITION” project, in partnership with Johnson & Johnson.o Established methacrylation of ECM components as photocrosslinkables in the research group of Prof. Danny Kelly.o Delivered a photocrosslinkable cartilage ECM bioink.

Managed scientific aspects of an Enterprise Ireland commercialisation project, “ChemoGel”; including formulation, rheological analysis, and in vivo evaluation of ChemoGel (a thermoresponsive gel for loco-regional delivery of chemotherapeutics to pancreatic tumours).

o Whilst at DSM Biomedical, developed a green, facile, top-down route to monodisperse iron oxide nanoparticles using stirred media milling. Generated colloidal dispersions of maghemite nanoparticles (hydrodynamic size of 20 nm) from bulk pigment powders.o Utilised maghemite nanoparticles as a dye for DLP printing of parts composed of biodegradable poly(trimethylenecarbonate).

o Advanced the group’s capability for the synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles with controlled size and magnetic properties.o Synthesised a novel molecule for the phase transfer of hydrophobic nanoparticles into protic solvents, with 92% exchange efficiency.

o Managed the analytical chemistry instrumentation (HPLC, GC-MS) in the Aboagye research group.o Synthesised a library of fluorescent thymidine analogues for imaging of cancer cell proliferation.o Provided radiochromatography support for patient PET scans within GE Healthcare facilities.
