If there is one word that I can use to best describe myself and my journey to entrepreneurship, it's "unconventional". To some unconventional may mean unfamiliar, unorthodox or even unusual. To me unconventional means to take the road less traveled, to think outside the box and to finding creative solutions to everyday challenges. Taking the unconventional route leads to some of the most interesting conversations, relationships and endeavors. It allows you to not only be a dreamer but gives you the ability to act on those dreams in a way conventional thinking does not.I have utilized this mindset in both sport and business. Whether it be leading a team on the ice or leading a team in the workplace. Challenging the conventional way of thinking to capitalize on your competition's lack of imagination.
