I am a Mechatronics Engineer who graduated from the University of Auckland in 2019.I personally have a great deal of interest in robotics and automation. It has been the focus of my engineering career: From my internship experience at Fisher & Paykel PML (which now operates as Facteon Global), my engineering role as one of the main Software Engineers at Kennedy Technologies Ltd (KennTec), a SCADA Engineer for Daifuku Oceania and in my current role as an Embedded Engineer at Loadrite NZ.I am knowledgeable in both traditional 2D vision methodologies, that rely heavily on lighting, as well as the newer 3D depth vision methods, which use more recently developed 3D IR stereo cameras.I have experience in the development of computer vision applications in both Windows 10 environments as well as Linux environments (namely Ubuntu), with C++ as my language of choice, although I have also have good experience in C# and C. I also have explored machine learning as a means of developing automated systems for object/feature detection (through Python on Windows).Alongside my experience in Computer Vision, I also have a significant amount of experience with PLC programming, having worked extensively with Beckhoff PLCs and their TwinCAT IDE (with particular focus on using Structured Text). I am also familiar with integrating PLC programs AND external applications to form complex automated systems.
