I am listed at the Chicago History Museum and Newberry Library as a researcher and do historical research as per contract.

After completing the museum's training, I was assigned to give presentations to students at activity stations related to Chicago history. These talks were on a cultural and historical theme. In addition, I gave gallery tours of the museum. I revised two tour maps designed for walking tours of the adjoining Chicago Museum neighborhoods.

As a contract researcher, I researched and documented subject matter for use in preparing a written presentation. This required interacting with various sites, (e.g., archives, cemeteries, museums, churches, and city and county records).

Completed a lengthy training program to become a docent. I conducted activities such as interpretive and educational guided tours. This included providing visitor information, orientation and interpretation. Since visitors from all over the world take this tour, our training included having knowledge of other Wright buildings.

As a Park Guide, I provided information, orientation, and interpretation in both formal and informal settings using a National Park prepared script. Also, I prepared two interpretative programs and presented a program on a western saddle, demonstrating how the various parts of the saddle were used.

I interpreted three historical area (1850 log cabin, 1900 school house, and 1910 farm). This required preparing and presenting conducted activities such as interpretive and educational guided tours. For school and scout groups, I gave a more hands on tour, letting the children handle artifacts, try out farm equipment and feed the farm animals. Adults usually were more interested in the history of the sites. Among the information imparted to visitors was the story of how the Buckley family immigrated form County Cork, Ireland, to escape the potato famine. While conducting interpretive tours, I included information on the general geographic area and natural environment. In addition, I assisted with the accession of artifacts, housekeeping tasks, care of farm animals, farm gardens and orchards. Each year, I assisted in grounds setup for festival and special events.
